How to Use This Calculator
Enter your project dimensions and desired depth, then click Calculate. Results show cubic yards (how suppliers sell bulk gravel), cubic feet (for smaller orders), tons (for weight-based pricing), and an estimated material cost.
Gravel is typically sold by the cubic yard or by the ton. Most standard gravel weighs approximately 1.4 tons per cubic yard โ use the tons figure when comparing prices from suppliers who quote by weight.
Always add 10% to your total for waste, uneven ground, and settling. For driveways and high-traffic areas, use two layers: a compacted base layer of #411 crusher run at 4โ6 inches, then a surface layer of #57 crushed stone at 2โ3 inches. Calculate each layer separately for accurate ordering.
